Kenneth possesses over thirty years of professional experience, beginning with D.Lee Dunlap Associates in Dallas in 1978.
In 1988, Kenneth joined WTP Inc. in Dallas, and subsequently relocated to WTP’s Hong Kong office In 1991.
In 1992, he joined Wong & Ouyang (HK) Ltd. to head a team responsible for the firm’s projects in Southeast Asia and China. As the firm’s Associate Director, he took total project control from conceptual design stage to construction implementation.
Under Kenneth’s leadership, the firm established its Shanghai office with over 50 professional staff, worked on several multi-purpose large-scale projects including international-brand hotels, Grade-A office buildings, high rise/high density residential buildings in Beijing, Shanghai, and Shenzhen in China. With his extensive experience in China, Kenneth reached out to China’s professional bodies and design institutes for exchange of technical and professional standards.
In 2015, Kenneth founded Modus Architecture Limited in Hong Kong to specialize in the design of international residential and hospitality projects.
He is a recognized leader in hospitality and mixed-use architecture and has been involved in design and project management of over 50 projects in Asia Pacific region, with on-going projects in Hong Kong and China.
His years of international experience and advocacy of a global perspective have offered advice and assistance to many AIA professionals entering the Asian markets speaking at international conferences and professional seminars.
Kenneth is a Registered Architect in the United States, Hong Kong and China. He has been a member of The American Institute of Architects since 1989 and a member of The Hong Kong Institute of Architects since 2003.
Kenneth Hau has been an active leader and promoter of the AIA at an International level ever since moving to Hong Kong from Dallas in 1991. As a founding member of AIA Hong Kong in 1997, his leadership has propelled the young Chapter into a mature and influential voice in the Institute’s growing international stature. As a selfless force within the Chapter, Kenneth’s consistent efforts and contributions in advancing recognition of the AIA architects presence in Asia have significantly increased public awareness of the profession and the Institute.
